LEADERSHIP

With roots in Carthage of the East Texas Piney Woods region,

co-founders Kevin Boone and Davis Sherman have used their expertise to grow Dixie Lake Royalty into a 25,000 net acre operation spanning 15 states.

 

KEVIN BOONE

Kevin began his business career at age 15 when he started a successful lawn and landscaping company to help pay for his education at Stephen F. Austin State University. After graduation in 2009, he worked for multiple Fortune 500 companies specializing in Oil & Gas mergers/acquisitions, raising capital, lending, and wealth management. This experience gave Kevin insight on how to acquire and manage O&G assets from multiple professional perspectives.

DAVIS SHERMAN

Davis is a native East Texan with a BBA from Stephen F. Austin State University. He has a land background with over 13 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. In 2017 he cofounded Dixie Lake with Kevin Boone. Starting with targeted acquisitions in East Texas and North Louisiana, he has spearheaded mineral, non-operated, surface and operated WI acquisitions across the United States.

 

Realizing the natural fit of Davis’s land background and Kevin’s background in finance the two formed Dixie Lake Royalty in 2017. Their first purchase was a $300 acquisition in Panola County and now routinely work with some of the largest energy institutions in the United States.

 

In their spare time Kevin and Davis enjoy spending time with their families, duck hunting, attending sporting events and days on the lake or at the ranch.
